Best Ravioli I’ve ever tasted
I don’t know why this place is not highly recommended the seafood ravioli was one of the nicest meals I’ve ever had the pleasure to experience. The service was great and the tiramisu so light and delicious!
Beautiful lunch on a Saturday!
Warm welcome. We chose from the daily menu and it was delicious. shrimps with avocado, salmon and Veal Milanese. Super! A delicious dessert to share. Absolutely recommended!

Nice and cosy
We had a very nice dinner away from the other noisy places. That’s why we choose it. Delicious food served with separated dish of vegatables and some side bread and butter. Recommend
A relief at the Strand!
Between all the mediocre restaurants at the Sliema Strand, Il Galeone is a breath of fresh air. It has a cosy familystyle vibe, the food is very nice and the waiters most helpful. Thanks for our very pleasant second visit!

Surprising family dinner!
We went there as there was not too crowded. We were positively surprised by the service, they prepared ‘customized’ pasta for our kid and waiter could describe all meals in details. Pancake stuffed with salomon and lemon sauce was a real masterpiece. House wine was excellent. I strongly recimmend this place for anyone who is willing to discover local flavours.
Great food and service
We popped in here 1 night because it was quiet and close to the place we stayed the food was fabulous, and we had 2 waiters looking after us. The night before we had been to other restaurant and it was shocking they should come here and see how it should be.
It was so good we came back on our last night and again the food and service was fabulous.

I honestly can’t praise this place enough, low key ambience, excellent staff and wonderful food at a very reasonable price too.
Very enjoyable food and wine with excellent service
We enjoyed a dinner of very good local food and wine and lovely service. Prawns, calves liver, veal, and a berry desert were all very well made and the local chevalier franc wine was outstanding. We could not have asked for more.
A hidden gem, fine dining style Maltese cuisine
I have always been a foodie and really enjoy trying different restaurants in different places. Among all the restaurant me and my friends visited in Malta during our 5 day stay, we all agreed that this is the best! The food is exquisitely made and extremely tasty, no matter what you order, you wont go wrong! We, as a group of 10, tried different stuff and we give our thumbs up to all food we ordered. We wanted to visit again but it is Easter weekend so there were a few night it didnt open. I would recommend this place to anyone who visits Sliema!
A delight!
Our first night in Malta and while walking along the seafront came across this little gem of a restaurant. Super service and lovely atmosphere. Our friendly waitress brought us a plate of complimentary canapes consisting of bruchetta and olives while we ordered a bottle of Maltese Chardonnay and perused the menu. We both ordered soup, my husband the fish soup and I had the pumpkin soup, both delicious. My husband had a ribeye steak with peppercorn sauce and potatoes and vegetables while I had the king prawns in white wine, garlic and parsley. Both dishes were lovely. There was so many items on the menu we fancied! We were too full for a dessert which was a shame as the creme caramel looked delicious! Next time! Would definitely recommend and will return next time we are in Malta.

Before we even ordered our food, we received some bread AND some delicious bruschetta. The staff we’re really friendly and All the food was delicious. Great size on the portions as well. Will defiantly Come back again soon!

Great food; attentive service
The food choices we made were really great. The ambience and comfort at the tables was friendly with staff who appeared when we expected. The unexpected appetizer was a nice touch. This was our second visit here, and we have not been disappointed so far; the owner always seems to be there watching over. We had a nice chat with the chef whom we thanked for a remarkably prepared meal.
Absolutely amazing food, staff are so polite and definitely the best place In Sliema to eat. Definitely worth a visit.
Great Lunch for the whole family
We ordered shrimps and the dish was absolutely astonishing. Kids had a penne with tomato sour sauce. They prepared penne instead of spaghetti specially for us and made it less spicy. It was one of the best restaurants we have visited during our holidays in Malta.
You better speed up…. if you want delicious and authentic Italian food. Especially the pasta is highly recommended. Enjoy!
Superb Meals and perfect service
Came here Tuesday evening with my sister, hubby and son. What an amazing dining experience we all had. The mushroom, duck
Pate and snail starters we so tasty we didn’t want them to end, served with complimentary bread. Our main meals of stuffed chicken, fresh salmon and duck were to die for, accompanied with fresh veg and sliced potatoes from the oven. Two of us managed a desert, chocolate profiteroles which finished the meal off perfectly. The inside is so lovely decorated and we all felt so at home. The service was outstanding and our lady waitress was just wonderful and very informative. If you are in Sliema this place is a MUST VISIT. The prices are very reasonable too. If I could give 10 stars I would. You will not be disappointed I promise. We are local and only just discovered this gem, you will be seeing us again for sure. Great work to all the staff at Galeone.

We come here annually for a special treat for friends and are always thrilled by the classic, old fashioned professionalism of the service and the quality of the meal.
Return visit
My husband and I returned to this restaurant which we had found last year. We were worried it may have changed but it was even better than we remembered. Food was wonderful and service was excellent. This is a real gem. Visit if you can.
Superb food in Sliema
If you are looking for a fabulous meal in Sliema then skip past the pub row and slip into Il Galeone. We dined inside in a nicely presented restaurant. We started with a beautiful complementary bruschetta and a couple of glasses of the house wine, a delightful merlot from Malta. Our mains of chicken and veal were also wonderful, and we finished with a lovely creme caramel which we shared. The prices were great too. A great all round meal.
Veal Limone, need I say more!!!
I often see people walk straight past this restaurant and I cannot for the life of me think why!!! The veal limone is out of this world and they serve proper escargot (don’t see that too often in Malta) definitely worth a visit.
The best restaurant in Sliema
If you like fine wine, excellent food, great service, all at a great price, then you cannot beat Il Galeone. Not our first visit and definitely not our last. Our holidays from the UK would never be complete without a meal here. Paul Mitchell.

We had lunch at Il Galeone. This was an excellent experience. Food was beautifully presented and very very tasty. Very good wine list too. This restaurant should not be missed…lovely staff, food, wine and excellent value for money.
An excellent evenings dining
We walked in off the street, having read the menu earlier in the day and remembering that we had eaten here 3 years ago. It was like stepping back in time, the décor was as pleasing and simple as it was and there was an ambience that made the room comfortable before we even started on the food.
The nice thing about the menu was there were plenty of viable options in each category, so we didn’t feel we were trapped to one of each. There fore it made it difficult to choose for a change! I had the stuffed mushrooms, very nice, and Mrs K had the shrimp cocktail which was unique its presentation. Mrs K and I then had the fillet steak with mushroom sauce and vegetables that were just right. The whole ensemble was absolutely delicious. We then finished off with an orange sorbet for the boss and I had a to die for crème caramel, which finished off dinner to perfection.The food was perfect, the price was very reasonable and the service was spot on. We would have eaten there every night,had it been our first night’s dining and not our last! We would highly recommend this establishment for a wonderful evenings dining, the wine menu was interesting as well.

Just back from week in sliema Was unimpressed with standard of restaurants in sliema until I came across this gem by chance. Excellent service, excellent food at reasonable prices. Make sure you give it an visit when in sliema
Great place
Traditional family run restaurant. The food is excellent. I had duck with accompanying potatoes and vegetables, all beautifully cooked. I would highly recommend a visit, prices are also reasonable.

Visited with my husband. It reminded us of our local Italian restaurant. Food was tasty and filling and beautifully prepared and served. It was not expensive and we really liked it. Definitely a restaurant we will return to.

Best restaurant in Sliema
Had dinner in this restaurant on three occasions in the week we stayed as food, ambience and staff were all brilliant. Also very good value for money. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Loved this place. Just perfect service and food. Each item presented so nicely. The rabbit ravioli sauce was amazing. All the flavours were distinct. Would definitely go back again. The prawns as a main is what I would have next time.
Amazing Gem of a Restaurant – Dont Miss Out!
We (4 of us) ate here twice in early May 2017. We had read good reviews on Trip Advisor and wisely prebooked a table as its quite a small restaurant, with a cosy relaxing ambience. The food in this restaurant is just amazingly good. The menu is simple yet there is a good choice. The portions are just right – you feel you have had a good meal but you dont feel as though you have overeaten. The food is all freshly prepared and the waiting staff and very friendly and welcoming. We loved it so much the 1st time, we booked another table when we were leaving for another night. Definitely our Favourite Restaurant in Sliema!
Delicious Prawn Pasta …
It’s been a few years since I’ve visited Il Galeone. I was in a rush at lunchtime which the owner and staff kindly accommodated by quickly preparing a delicious pasta possibly not on the menu (I didn’t have time to read). The prawns were large, plentiful and overall the pasta was great. I was able to sit near the open large window area viewing the harbor and sights of people shopping and goings on. Like al fresco without the smokers! It was lovely and look forward to returning.
